[Tau-announcements] TAU v2.14.7 released

Hi,
	We're pleased to announce the release of TAU v2.14.7 with the following new
features:

1) PerfExplorer
Performance data mining and knowledge discovery framework is now available in
TAU. See:
http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/research/paracomp/papers/sc05/sc2005.pdf
for further information.

2) TAU Eclipse Java plugin
TAU Eclipse plugin for instrumentation of Java applications is now available in TAU [Eclipse PTP project].

3) tau_setup GUI
A new GUI tool (tau_setup) is added for making it easier to install TAU.

4) Commandline invocation of TAU
Instead of using stub makefiles inside your application makefiles, TAU has
three new scripts (tau_cxx.sh, tau_cc.sh and tau_f90.sh) that can be used on
the commandline to instrument and link your application. TAU_MAKEFILE and TAU_OPTIONS environment variables can be used to specify the stub makefile and options that are passed to tau_compiler.sh.

5) Phase profiling
Enhancements to identify phases as groups in paraprof.

6) MPI libraries
We've made improvements in our TAU MPI wrapper interposition library to support
large scale executions and provide better tool scalability.

7) Documentation
New website and users guide are now available at:
http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/research/tau
The old URL points to the new one now.
